This year marks the 25th anniversary celebrations of the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna, Austria. Important UN agencies such as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime are located in Vienna.

The United Nations Youth and Students Association of Austria functions as the voice of the youth in these 25th anniversary celebrations wanting the voice of the youth to heard.

Therefore, a series of events are planned with the highlight of Vienna International Model United Nations (VIMUN 2004), which itself is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
