Stir It Up is a youth run initiative aimed at creating a high school political action network in the Greater Toronto Area. We recognize that there is a lack of opportunities for youth and high school students to express social criticisms and participate in working towards social change. We hope to accommodate this need by establishing a system where students and youth can come together and organize on issues that concern them.

Stir It Up encourages youth to get involved in a wide variety of ways; music, civic journalism, art, poetry, community projects and peer-based education. We believe that one person has the power to make a difference, and that together we can effect change. Stir It Up was formed in 2001, shortly after the WTC attacks, when we were all forced to re-evaluate our role in society. Over the last year we have organized many actions that have raised awareness on issues which directly effect youth.
