2. Brief Introduction of the Partner
CYMCSS, the Cooperative Young Marine and Coastal Scholar Society is a non political, non religious and non for profit organization. As a youth network, It’s co-initiated by Dalian Environment and Resource Center, The Environment and Development Association of Dalian Maritime University and The Bio-technological Society of Shandong Univerisity, Weihai Campus.
Our objectives are:
To enrich the formal education of students, especially in terms of a wider, more global perspective through extracurricular activities and the exchange of information and experiences such as the International Marine and Coastal Students’ Symposium (IMCSS) seminars, internship programmes and Local community service.
To contribute to a more complete professional preparation for its members
To promote co-operation and networking amongst students and the professional aquatic product sector as well as with other sectors such as Agriculture, Medicine, Finance, Tourism, oil and Law.
To promote the youth participation in global, regional, national and local environmental and ecological affairs, by co-working with research institute, non-government organization and private sectors.
To achieve this objective, the CYMCSS will:
1) Found a professional advisor council, with members from state government, international organization, international/local non-government organization, private sectors and academic society;
2) Prepare a Strategic Action Programme (SAP) and International Coorperation Action Plans(INAPs);
3) Initiate demonstration and/or pilot activities under the SAP.
3. Roles and Activities as a Member of the Yellow Sea Partnership
As a member of Yellow Sea Partnership (YSP), CYMCSS involves into joint activities for general public awareness and education with other organizations and programmes, especially in youth group.
