Northern Areas of Pakistan present some of the most fabulous mountain sights to the world. The longest glacier of our planet, outside the poles, world's second largest Peak, K2, the land of long lives, Hunza valley and even more bewitiching wonders are found in this intricate network of valleys, torrents and roaring rivers. Rakaposhi, Nanga Parbat, Batura Glacier and other popular tourist sites and peaks adorn the face of our lovely northern areas.

Although the region is naturally unprecedented, the people living there are suffering. The region has been in a so-called "constitutional limboo" for the past fifty eight years. The people of northern areas won their war of independence from the Maharaja of Kashmir and un conditionally acceded to Pakistan. Their accession has yet to be accepted by the authorities in Pakistan.

The lack of consititutional status and the half-annexation paradox has resulted in a padora box of economic, social and religoius destablityt.
